Book summary:

I've read all of Stephanie Fowers books and it's no doubt that she has a unique sense of humor.  She takes Mormon culture and plays it up like crazy.  Especially the BYU scene.  All of us who lived there/went there knows what it's like and she over does all those stereotypes a bit.  So while there's a lot of humor sometimes it's just a little crazy.  

Mark and I actually read this one together.  Our kids were visiting their grandparents for 10 days and we stayed home to get some painting and redecorating done in our house.  To more enjoy our time together and help us to get through the work we took turns reading this book to each other.  There were some scenes in here that were pretty funny.  Funny enough that we struggled to get through reading the scene out loud from laughing so hard.  There were two scenes specifically that had us seriously rolling on the floor laughing.  It was kind of weird how things turned out...sort of a weird combination of homor/spy thriller.  

Of all Fowers LDS fiction this book was probably my favorite.  She has a series of fantasy books that I enjoyed more, maybe for their more subtle humor and story telling. Yet if you don't mind some crazy humor, messy yet somehow endearing character and an over-dramatized BYU scene then this book is a funny and surprising read.
