Book summary:

Shannon Guymon is another of those authors where I read all her books that I can get my hands on.  I especially love this series.  One, it is set in Alpine.  It's fun reading a book and really feeling like you know the place because you actually do.  Two, this first book is a little extra special for me because the main character is a hair stylist.  I can totally relate to her and what she enjoys about hair and some of the preconceived notions about hairstylists. 

I like that the reading is mostly light but with a touch of serious to it.  Sophie is happy and caring and giving but she has a messed up family and she has to deal with some tough things with them.  Sophie isn't perfect though and we get to see a couple situations where she makes decisions that are not at all perfect.  The romantic story is fun and sweet and I was rooting for Sophi and Sam the whole way. 

Each book in the series features a different main character.  The second book, Taking Chances, is probably my favorite.  You get multiple POV's and Maggie and Luke's relationship is hilarious.  I love it when I can laugh and read a love story.  There is a bit of cheesiness in these books but a very manageable amount.
